Indian fingerlickin’ at Whole Foods

March 18, 2010

Trust me. The next time you are craving quick Desi Food, don’t go looking for restaurants with faux desi names like Bombay Garden or Garam Masala. Just take a walk to your neighbourhood Whole Foods!!

The Indian Bar at Whole Foods has some seriously good stuff – just standard Indian restaurant fare, but surprisingly authentic. The Biryani tends to be a little dry, but top it off with the Channa Masala or the Palak Paneer. The Samosas are a bit soggy, its true, but the filling inside is the best I have tasted outside India! It has peas, cashews, and the  absolutely divine flavour of aniseed, or Saunf.

Just pop all of it into one of their containers, pay $9.99/lb, take it home, microwave, and be instantly comforted.
